WHAT IS A MODEL CALL?
A model call is a special opportunity where I look for a variety of elements that might include, a particular horse breed, discipline of rider, type of partnership between a horse and human or a specific location setting to bring a creative vision to life.
Unlike my standard portrait experience, where everything is tailored around you, a model call is my chance to craft something specific for my portfolio or a way to fuel a creative vision or project I currently have. It allows me to explore new ideas, practice or experiment with different techniques, explore new poses or directive approaches and discover new artistic possibilities.
In return for taking part, putting in the effort and following my creative direction, you’ll receive the photoshoot completely complimentary as well as a selection of beautiful images as a thank-you for helping me realise that vision. It’s a wonderful way to collaborate, celebrate the beauty of the British countryside, showcase our wonderful Equines and create something truly lasting together.
Even if you don't feel like you "Match" what I am currently on the look out for, Please still apply! As you may be absolutely perfect for a future project.
Whilst I would love nothing more than to give everyone the opportunity to participate in a model call, an application is not a guarantee of selection nor should it be viewed as a booked photoshoot.
I will also ask for images to be sent over to me prior to final selections to ensure aspects of the specified criteria is met for the project I am creating at the time. Please still do apply, even if you don't match every single point of the criteria highlighted in the specific model call as I may still be able to work with you!

MODEL CALL ONE - 2026
HORSE ONLY REQUIRED FOR A FINE ART DEVELOPMENT SESSION.
type of horse required
Warmblood/Dressage type of Horse, Or a well muscled breed with a strong neck. Also open to heavy breeds with an abundance of Mane & Tail! Horse must be comfortable to stand still for the Images (Will aim to keep the session short). They will be expected to stand square and bend (treats can be used for encouragement) unique poses also a bonus (Eg, Head down, head stretched up, leg forward, etc).
Horse colour/turnout preferences
Horses must be bathed and groomed to a showing standard. Dressage Types will be required to be fully plaited. Long manes must be clean and tangle free. Hooves to be oiled.
Coat Preferences: Dapple Grey/ Striking or Unique Markings and Eyes/ Fleabitten Grey/ Spotted/ Bay.
Tack required
Clean, Smart Bridle or Leather Headcollar free of any damage. If the horse is happy in a photography rope halter that will be edited out it post production that's a bonus (I will Supply this).
type of rider/owner required
Not Required for this session. This Shoot focuses only on the Horse. However the owner must be present and having a Handler/ Assistant available for the posing of the horse and to get their ears forward etc would be an advantage.

Not Required for this session. This Shoot focuses only on the Horse.
Location required
You must have either an Open barn space/ Indoor stable block/etc with a clean and flat floor (Ideally concrete) wide enough for a horse to stand full body side on. May consider a stable depending on space and the Horse. (Please view the Mood board linked to the left for examples of space needed). Must be within 1.5 Hours drive of Fernhurst, West Sussex. Would potentially consider further for the right horse, but a mileage fee will apply.
Description of Session
Please View the Mood board for what I am looking to create from this session. The goal is to create a variety of Fine Art pieces that focus on the details of a horse (Coat/ Mane/Eyes etc) and to work on my black/white/Art background images to further develop my skills in this area. The session should only take up to an hour (Dependent on horse/ needing to re-position/ etc). You will be required to sign a model release form as I intend to use these images in my portfolio/ marketing/ print offerings etc.
Model Compensation
As a Thank you for your time and efforts, not only will this photoshoot be entirely complimentary, but you will also receive your favourite 3 Images in a digital format as an additional Thank you (Fully Edited, High Resolution) You will also have access to a Discounted Price list should you wish to purchase any further images or products (But this is NOT Expected of you at all).
MODEL CALL two - 2026
FAMILIES WITH MULTIPLE HORSES REQUIRED.
type of horse required
Open to all breeds. Multiple horses in the same household wanted (Eg, Mum's Horse and Children's Pony etc). Equines can be any age or height, but must be well handled, well mannered, able to stand with the other horse/pony/ etc.
Horse colour/turnout preferences
All Horses/ Ponies must be bathed and groomed to a showing standard. Long manes or feathers must be clean and tangle free. Hooves to be oiled. Clipped or un-clipped is fine as long as the clip is neat and has been done at least 1 week prior to the shoot.
Coat Preferences: No Preferences.
Tack required
Clean, Smart Bridles or Leather Headcollars with a plain black/brown leadrope free of any damage.

Open to all ages and family types (including same sex parents, disabilities, mixed ethnicity, etc).
Mixed children's ages ideal (between 5-18 ). Would also consider adult only families (Mum & Daughter etc
No preference on discipline. No preference on whether you compete or not. No Preference on whether you're full livery, DIY or have your own private estate, as long as the location is suitable and you have permission from the property owner for a photoshoot (with the final images being used in my portfolio/marketing etc).

Depending on time of year - Overall theme is for a smart, classic countryside fashion/style (Blue Jeans/Smart shirts/ Tweed/ Subtle floral dresses/ Smart Boots or Deck Shoes/ etc) - Please see the moodboard for this session for type of outfits required! Family outfits should also compliment each other. No Riding clothing (Breeches/ Baselayers/Etc) or anything heavily branded/ Characters/ Logos/ Neon/ etc.
Classic Country Colours: Greens/ Blues/ Soft Pinks/ Browns / Etc
Location required
Open to a variety of locations. Mainly need space for all participants to be together safely.
Ideal but not essential to have:
- Field with a Big Tree or Pleasing View
- Tree or Tall Hedge lined driveway/ path to walk down together
- Rustic Wooden Gate (wide enough for multiple ponies/people to look over) with a pleasing backdrop (field/ etc)
- Brick Built Stables (Bonus if wooden beams)
- Open fronted barn/stable block
- Bench (with area for horses to also stand around)
- Woodland Area

Description of Session

The main goal is to create a variety of Family portrait pieces that focus on the bond between the family and their horses (Also working on how I manage these sessions, especially with younger children involved!! and further develop my skills in this area)
The session should be expected to take 1.5-2.5 hours maximum (Dependent on horses/ How the children cope/ any outfit changes or creative positioning I may want to try/ etc).
You will be required to sign a model release form as I intend to use these images in my portfolio/ marketing/ print offerings etc, so must be happy for any childrens faces to be shown both on my trade stands/ social medias/ website/ etc.
Model Compensation
As a Thank you for your time and efforts, not only will this photoshoot be entirely complimentary, but you will also receive your favourite 3 Images in a digital format and a 12" mounted fine art print of one of those images as an additional Thank you (Fully Edited, High Resolution) .
You will also have access to a Discounted Price list should you wish to purchase any further images or products (But this is NOT Expected of you at all).
